Coronavirus Update

March 10, 2020

Dear Campus Community,

Governor Gina Raimondo has issued a state of emergency, which will allow the state to supplement its response to COVID-19 in order to maintain the health and welfare of our family, friends and neighbors in Rhode Island.

As COVID-19 continues to spread across the world, colleges and universities like Rhode Island College are taking unprecedented actions to ensure the health and safety of students and the communities they serve.

In an abundance of caution and in consultation with the RI Department of Health, Rhode Island College is cancelling and/or postponing all events with greater than 100 in attendance scheduled on campus between March 11 and April 7. This directive does not apply to credit-bearing activities.

We are awaiting additional guidance from the NCAA and our regional competitors before making a determination regarding athletic competitions.

For more information about campus events, contact the Office of Campus Events and Conference Services at 401-456-8900 or events@ric.edu.

Thank you for your understanding.
