COVID-19 Response: Partnering to Support our Community

Dear Campus Community,
The Rhode Island National Guard (RING) Civil Support Team, working with the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RI EMA), has identified the college as a new coronavirus (COVID-19) testing site location within Providence County.
On
Sunday, March 29, RING will establish a secure testing site in Parking Lot B, the college’s main commuter parking lot, with the goal of testing up to 300 people per day. Approximately 50 medical and security personnel will begin on-site testing for COVID-19 this
Monday, March 30. Testing will be
by appointment only and will occur between the hours of 9 a.m.–3 p.m., seven days per week. In addition to Parking Lot B, the personnel assigned to the testing site will be utilizing shower facilities within the Recreation Center. All personnel working on-site will park in Parking Lot A.
The college has a critical role to play in supporting the state’s efforts to significantly increase the amount of testing across Rhode Island. We will continue to work with RING, RI EMA and other health officials to support the health of our community, while making sure that the business of the college continues.
We recognize that, as the response to COVID-19 continues to expand, many of you may feel a sense of anxiety and fear. We urge all members of our campus community to follow guidelines and hygiene practices of health professionals and remain calm as we work together to minimize the impact of COVID-19 within our community.
