Business Processes and Operations

Adams Library 

The library is open to the RIC Community ONLY. Rave Guardian app and RIC ID must be presented to enter. Face masks are required at all times and please maintain social distancing. Levels 1A and 1B are closed until further notice. The library will not be open to the general public until further notice.  Please check the Library’s website for more information.

Athletics/Athletic Facilities

Physical and mental health is important during these times. The Recreation Center is open to all students for the spring semester. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday 12 noon to 4 p.m. and Sunday 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Bookstore 

The Bookstore will remain open with curbside pickup for online orders when possible to reduce the number of people entering the Student Union lobby.  Face masks will be required for entry.

Conferences, Events and Social Gatherings

The college will host limited conferences, events and social gatherings in accordance with CDC guidance and as directed in the various phases of Reopening RI by the State of Rhode Island. 

Dining Services

Food Service is available for residential and commuter students as well as faculty and staff is available at Donovan Dining Center, The Café (using the Anchor Dining App and other vending locations throughout campus. All food service is being provided in accordance with RIDOH guidance and safety protocols.

Henry Barnard School

Henry Barnard School will open for in-person classes according to their normal calendar and in accordance with guidance from the Rhode Island Department of Education and the Rhode Island Department of Health. Details of the plan will be forthcoming.

IT Help Desk

Services provided by the ITS Help Center will continue.  The ITS Help Center will have no walk-ups, and appointments are required. If you have hardware or technology related issues and needs that require in-person service, please email helpdesk@ric.edu.

to schedule an appointment. The Help Center will be available from 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Fridays. The Help Center is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Parking on Campus

Parking permits will be mailed to members of the campus community instead of the previous in-person process. 

Prospective Student Center

Due to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in New England, the college is offering virtual campus visits at this time. The Prospective Student Center will reopen for on-campus tours in accordance with essential mitigation measures necessary to safely showcase college facilities to prospective students and their families as soon as possible.

In the meantime, the Office of Admissions will continue to provide synchronous and asynchronous virtual programming, covering all aspects of the College to best support prospective students and their families.

Public Safety

Public Safety will continue to provide services to the campus on a daily basis, the department will also allow for walk-ins.

Public Safety will help to reinforce our social norms under COVID-19. Members of our community who are not consistently adhering to the established health and safety guidelines will be referred to the Office of Student Life or the Department of Human Resources.

Rhode Island Nursing Education Center (RINEC)

Simulation training will occur at RINEC in accordance with health and safety protocols. 

Transportation

The operation of the RINEC shuttle service from campus to RINEC is suspended. On-campus shuttle service will continue with social distancing and face masks required. 

As a commuter college, the vast majority of our students not only use public transportation to attend classes, but to go to work. Accordingly, we will continue to charge fees for the RIPTA U-PASS program so that all students can continue to receive free public transportation.

Welcome Center

The Welcome Center will remain closed to the public during the Spring 2021 semester.

Workforce Development Hub in Central Falls

The Workforce Development Hub will be open with small select in-person classes and meetings. For meetings occurring in-person, social distancing and face masking will be required.  

Hours of Operation: 8:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. (evenings and weekends as necessary).
