Emerging Leaders Program
What is the Purpose of the Program?
The Emerging Leaders Program at Rhode Island College is designed to provide a foundation for students to become confident, aware, and engaged leaders and realize their potential through participation in a series of interactive workshops and experiential learning opportunities.
The workshops are organized into seven key areas
- Leadership
- Presentation and Personal Branding
- Self-Awareness, Values and Personal Mission
- Introduction to Difference
- Wellness and Balance
- Public Speaking
- Mentorship
What is the time commitment? Will I have to take tests or do homework assignments?
The program kicks off with an orientation on
Friday, February 21, 2021 from 2-4pm, and the series workshops meet throughout the Fall semester on most Friday afternoons from 2pm-4pm with completion ceremony and certificate presentations on April 9, 2021. There are no tests or traditional homework assignments, except for brief post-session surveys and journal record.
How will I benefit from being involved?
Program benefits for student participation include recognition as a student leader at Rhode Island College, developing resume credentials, networking, practicing skills to be a successful global citizen and future professional, exposure to new ideas and experiences, making new friends and having fun. Those who complete the program in its entirety receive a certificate and have the option to continue by serving as student facilitators for leadership programs the following semester.
How do I apply?
The program is intended for Rhode Island College undergraduates is free and limited to a designated number of student participants selected through an online APPLICATION by Friday, January 8, 2021.
