RI College Community Service
Purpose Statement
RI College Community Service works to promote student volunteerism and to show the positive contributions of our students at the local, state, national, and international levels. We accomplish these goals through the dissemination of volunteer opportunities to students and student organizations, and the compilation of information on the service projects undertaken by student organizations and Greek Life chapters.

MLK Day of Service – Martin Luther King Holiday
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the most prominent figures in the American Civils Rights Movement. His leadership through nonviolent efforts mobilized the nation to help make tangible progress for Black Americans. Colleges across the country take this day to honor Dr. King’s legacy by giving back to their local communities. Rhode Island College students, faculty, and staff are invited to join this movement by serving at one of a number of sites in the greater Providence area. All participants will get breakfast and a free t-shirt!
