*Eligible employees are all State of Rhode Island employees who are paying medical co-shares based on the Rhode Island State Employee Health Plan rates that are posted at www.employeebenefits.ri.gov. All other employees may participate in the Wellness Program activities, however, co-share credits will not be earned.

State of Rhode Island Development Academies

The Department of Administration has launched the Rhode Island Learning and Development Office. The mission of this new office is to create a culture of continual learning and improvement to promote professional development opportunities for State employees that enhance capacity, maximize efficiency and to support organizational goals. 

The Learning and Development Office established Academies which are programs of study or training in a special area, such as management, leadership development, customer service or communications. These programs are specifically designed as a planned sequence of instruction with clear learning outcomes and opportunities for classroom participation. Each Academy has a designated target audience, learning objectives and course curriculum.

Rhode Island Higher Education Training Consortium (RIHETC)

The Rhode Island Higher Education Training Consortium (RIHETC) has announced their Spring 2019 Professional Development Workshops. For a complete listing of available workshops and to register, please visit this webpage.​

Approval must be received from your department supervisor prior to registering. The cost for all workshops is payable by the requesting department. The RIHETC invoice for each workshop will be sent to the Office of Human Resources for usage tracking purposes and then forwarded to the department for payment processing.
