RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE SUMMER SESSIONS BEGIN MAY 19
PROVIDENCE, R.I., March 3, 2014 –Rhode Island College’s Summer Sessions offer undergraduate and graduate students at RIC and other area schools an opportunity for accelerated-degree study in two six-week sessions, May 19 - June 27 and June 30 - Aug. 8.

RIC’s summer programming is designed to allow students flexibility in matching classes to summer work and recreation schedules. Over 400 undergraduate and graduate courses are available, many with online components.
“RIC’s many options include classes that meet only two days a week, morning and evening classes, and online and hybrid courses,” said Dante Del Giudice, director of professional studies and continuing education.
Summer undergraduate offerings include courses in accounting, anthropology, art, biology, chemistry, communication, computer information systems, computer science, economics, education, English, film, finance, gender and women’s studies, geography, history, management, marketing, mathematics, music, nuclear medicine technology, nursing, philosophy, physical education, physical sciences, physics, political science, psychology, radiologic technology, social work, sociology, Spanish, special education and theatre.
Students may also enroll in summer courses that support a Certificate of Undergraduate Study in either gerontology or nonprofit studies. Non-RIC undergraduates may be able to receive credit for RIC classes by obtaining permission from their current colleges since RIC is a NEASC-accredited college.
Graduate course offerings this summer support the areas of art, art education, counseling and educational psychology, early childhood education, educational leadership, elementary education, health care administration, history, mathematics, music education, nursing, social work and special education.
Select summer courses can be applied toward a Certificate of Graduate Study in advanced counseling, autism education, literature and middle-secondary level special education.
Undergraduate courses begin at $218 per credit hour for Rhode Island residents, while graduate courses begin at $290 per credit hour for Rhode Island residents.
Financial aid is available to RIC students enrolled in eligible certificate and degree programs and may be available for visiting students who qualify for consortium-agreement financial aid. For more information, visit www.ric.edu/financialaid.
