PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A special Muir String Quartet concert dedicated to the memory of Lila Sapinsley will take place on Monday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m., in Rhode Island College’s Sapinsley Hall, 600 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence.

This concert, originally planned for February but rescheduled due to poor weather, features Mozart’s String Quartet in C Major, Dissonant, K. 465; Janáček’s String Quartet No. 1, Kreutzer Sonata; and Dvořák’s String Quartet No. 11 in C Major, Op. 61.

Tickets purchased for the February concert will be honored at the March 16th concert. Reserved seating is $35.

Lila Sapinsley was friend, patron and benefactor of Rhode Island College. She and her husband John Milton Sapinsley, RIC professor emeritus of economics (1970-1987), were loyal supporters of the arts and of Rhode Island College. In 2000, Sapinsley Hall was named in their honor.
