Flash Mob at RIC Commencement Goes Viral
As Rhode Island College President Nancy Carriuolo closed the 159th commencement exercises at RIC, a flash mob of RIC graduates from the music, theater and dance department led the crowd of 1,400 graduates and their families in a special rendition of “(I’ve had) The Time of My Life.”
Carriuolo ended the ceremony by telling the graduates that she hoped they had had “the time of their lives.” At that cue, the students emerged.
Graduating senior Naysh Fox appeared on the platform with microphone in hand and then the other students joined him, singing and dancing on stage and in the aisles. As the soloists sang their lyrics, they recognized the graduates from each of the five schools of the college. The students in the audience waved colorful tinsel streamers.
