The project is dedicated to promoting the use of the community radio as an instrument of the promotion of peace in Lusophone Africa while connecting with local Portuguese-speaking communities here in the United States.

Recognizing that both share common interests in the dissemination of the Portuguese language and Lusophone cultures and the value of human rights, Rhode Island College and the Pro Dignitate Foundation entered into an agreement of cooperation on September 23, 2010. The document was signed by Former First Lady of the Republic of Portugal Maria Barroso Soares, President of the Pro Dignitate Foundation and Dr. Nancy E.
