LOCATION: Fogarty Life Science 168 Simulation Lab (observed via streaming video)
In a state-of-the-art simulation lab, nursing and social work students collaborate to embark on the activity of taking care of a patient who is experiencing physical trauma and spiritual distress after the loss of a loved following a motor vehicle accident.

Learn about experiential learning offered in the medical imaging and food safety majors, along with diversity of the health sciences internships.
11–11:30 a.m., I Made it Myself
LOCATION: Whipple 101
Interact with students in the technology lab and have a hands-on experience with Corel Draw and laser-cutting.
11:45 a.m.–12:15pm, How a Navigator Networks
LOCATION: Donovan Dining Center, Main floor
An interactive demonstration showing an innovative safety net system created by Learning For Life (L4L) Navigators, designed to increase students’ support networks on and off campus.

A student-managed fund allowing students to blend theory and practice is made possible through the generosity of a RIC alum. Students will share the type of research they do to make decisions and how this experience will help prepare them for a career in the financial services industry.

Students in Introduction to Youth Development will be facilitating an experiential activity that encourages groups to learn from and with each other. In youth development, these activities are called “purposeful play.” Play is a process that encourages communication among participants.
3–3:30 p.m., Cutting Edge
LOCATION: Alex & Ani 209
Experience the new digital media curriculum based on the latest development of digital visual technologies. Courses are taught with a content-driven approach allowing students to use advanced digital visual tools such as 3D modeling, animation and rapid pro-type print to create artwork. Video editing and production are an essential part of the curriculum.

The Center for Research and Creative Activity (CRCA) is working to expand opportunities for mentored experiences in research and creative activity, a high-impact practice that increases student engagement. President’s Commission on Inclusive Excellence

Community Reading Day
Members of the President’s Commission on Inclusive Excellence and the greater RIC Community read Rolling With Nia to local elementary students. Written by RIC Alumna, the late Dana Wright '04, this book highlights the adventures of an eight-year-old girl who uses a wheelchair focusing on all the things Nia can do, going to school, playing with friends and having lots of fun. Recommended for children ages 2-6.
