Committee on Academic Policies and Procedures

The Committee shall recommend academic policies and procedures including non-classroom learning and its evaluation and oversee their codification in the College Handbook.

The Manual of Academic Policies and Procedures of Rhode Island College serves as the guide for explaining the policies and the implementation procedures taken by the faculty and the administration pertaining to academic matters.  Many of the policies provided here have been adopted through the academic governance structure of Rhode Island College, particularly through the actions of the Council of Rhode Island College and the various standing and ad-hoc committees comprised of faculty, staff, and students.  Policies are under continuous review and subject to modification.  Where the Rhode Island College Bulletin includes coverage of these topics, the current Bulletin is the governing policy.  Other sources for academic information include the College Catalog, Faculty Handbook, Student Handbook, Student Code of Conduct, Graduate Manual, and information provided by the Offices of the Bursar, Records, and Admissions.  In this regard, the Manual of Academic Policies and Procedures includes links to forms and web sites where important information is available.

Questions relating to this website, suggested revisions to policies, and ideas for policies to be added should be directed to the Committee on Academic Policies and Procedures CAPP@RIC.edu.
