The Center for Research and Creative Activity (CRCA) was established to broaden participation of the Rhode Island College community in the high-impact practice of mentored research and creative activity. The mission of CRCA is to increase student engagement toward greater retention, persistence, and degree completion, by advancing in our goals to 1) increase visibility and access to existing opportunities, 2) provide resources and support through programming and partnerships on- and off-campus, and 3) adapt and develop best practices for supporting a diverse and inclusive campus culture.
CRCA was initially funded through a grant from the Davis Educational Foundation, established by Stanton and Elisabeth Davis after Mr. Davis's retirement as chairman of Shaw’s Supermarkets, Inc., and is now supported primarily by Rhode Island College.
