RIC Mission, Strategic Plan and Learning Goals
Rhode Island College’s
mission emphasizes higher education of the finest quality for all of our students, whether undergraduates or graduates. The current strategic plan,
Vision 2020, includes six major goals, all of which all students are expected to achieve the learning goals of the
General Education Program, adopted in 2012. Those goals include outcomes in eleven distinct areas: written communication, critical and creative thinking, research fluency, oral communication, collaborative work, arts, civic knowledge, ethical reasoning, global understanding, quantitative literacy, and scientific literacy.
