Rhode Island College has dedicated people and resources to help students. Starfish knows that students succeed when they are engaged with an informed, connected campus community. Starfish Student Retention Solutions is a resource to help students reach their academic goals. This is accomplished through intentional collaborations with faculty and staff at Rhode Island College.

Who is involved? The primary stakeholder in the implementation of Starfish Student Retention Solutions is the students. However, other key members that are included in Starfish are Faculty, Staff, and a variety of campus resources.

How does it work? Starfish at RIC will be an information hub that will allow us to collect as much information in one place and let both people and systems trigger flags (alerts) and kudos (compliments).

Why is it important? At RIC we are looking to see students succeed in a variety of ways. We believe that Starfish will allow for more direct communication between students and faculty, identify at-risk students while at the same time connecting them to the proper resources, and use positive enforcement to encourage student persistence.
