Transition to Integrated Employment

June Series | April Series | February Series

Overview

The goal for every person with a developmental disability is a self-determined life that includes a quality place to live, individualized integrated employment, and an individual lifestyle. There is a national body of evidence from multiple states that has documented the strategies that are effective in achieving that goal. The mission of the federally designated Developmental Disabilities Network in each state is to disseminate that evidence in a way that stimulates discussion of policy and practice and increases the capacity of individuals, families, providers, and advocates to implement effective practice.

To that end, Rhode Island College and the Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities are hosting a series of public forums and workshops in 2014 that are focused on promoting a comprehensive approach to transition and integrated employment. Several organizations are partnering in this effort. We encourage each of you to participate and to help increase the quality of life for individuals who have a developmental disability.
