Second Language Milestone Requirement of General Education
Rhode Island College graduates are expected to communicate in and understand a language other than English at a novice-mid proficiency level. The Second Language Milestone Requirement of General Education is designed to meet that expectation.
The Second Language Requirement may be fulfilled in any of the following ways:
- If you start learning a new language: enroll in PORT 101: Elementary Portuguese I and PORT 102: Elementary Portuguese II.
- If you continue learning the same language from High School: take the Online Portuguese Self Assessment Test [hyperlink: http://www.ric.edu/portuguesestudies/placement.php] and complete the corresponding course.
