The Political Science Department offers the following programs of study:

Details about each of these programs can be found by following the links on this page.

The majors offered through the Political Science Department open doors to careers and graduate study in politics; law; geography; the administration of governmental and nonprofit organizations; public policy making; opinion research, urban and community planning; journalism, education, and many other fields.

Our alumni have achieved high-level positions in state, local and federal government; the legal profession; non-profit agencies, and private industry. Follow the alumni link on this page to learn more about the achievements of our alumni.

In addition to our academic course offerings, the department offers opportunities for students to expand their skills and experience outside of the classroom. Semester-long internships are available in public affairs, state and local government, law, non-profit organizations, and other areas. Students enrolled in the Washington Term spend a week in Washington DC as a congressional intern, and students in the summer London Course spend three weeks learning about government and politics in England. See the links on this page for more information about these opportunities.
