Who We Are

The faculty at the Department of Physical Sciences is made up of chemists, physicists and earth scientists.

What We Do

Programs of study: Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, Bachelor of Science in Physics, and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (ACS certified, following one of the three tracks: Professional (general), Biochemistry and Environmental)

Courses offered: We offer courses in chemistry, physics, physical science, astronomy, geology and oceanography for majors and non-majors.

Research Opportunities: faculty members work with students on areas of research including but not limited to: experimental physics, theoretical physics, material science, oceanography, environmental chemistry, analytical chemistry, computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, organic reaction mechanisms, homogeneous catalysis, green chemistry, and spectroscopy.
