NURS 701 Scientific Underpinnings for ClinicalScholarship
Course Description: Theoretical knowledge from nursing and related disciplines is explored. Emphasis is placed on integration and application of scientific knowledge to clinical practice and to practice scholarship.
3 cr; Fall semester. Prerequisites: DNP program matriculation or consent of program director.
NURS 702Leadership/Quality Improvement
Course Description: Core concepts of organizational and systems leadership and quality improvement are explored, with emphasis on application to diverse clinical practice settings.
3 Cr.; Fall semester. Prerequisites: DNP program matriculation or consent of program director.
NURS 703 Advanced Epidemiology and Biostatistics
Course Description: Epidemiological principles and methods are presented and applied to clinical and population-based health. Epidemiological, biostatistical, and other scientific approaches are used to analyze population data.
3 Cr.; Fall semester. Prerequisites: DNP program matriculation or consent of program director.
NURS 704 Clinical Research/Analytic Methods
Course Description: Methodological concepts and principles required for evidence-based clinical practice are examined. Emphasis is placed on analysis and application of research findings to clinical practice.
3 Cr.; Spring semester. Prerequisites: NURS 703 prerequisite.
NURS 705 Health Policy and Advocacy
Course Description: Frameworks for developing and analyzing health policy issues are presented and discussed in the context of prominent health policy issues. Analytic skills will be applied to examine health policy debates.
3 cr.; Spring semester. Prerequisites: DNP program matriculation or consent of program director.
NURS 706 Economics, Finance and Business Management
Course Description: Advanced economic, financial, and business knowledge and skills required to assume a DNP leadership role are investigated Emphasis is placed on application of knowledge to diverse healthcare settings and systems.

NURS 707 Information Technology/Decision Support
Course Description: The intersection of informatics, computer science, cognitive science and nursing science are explored. Current issues, evaluation of information technology, and application to practice are emphasized.
3 cr.; Fall semester. Prerequisites: DNP program matriculation or consent of program director.
NURS 708 Interprofessional Collaborative Practice
Course Description: Core concepts of interprofessional collaborative practice are explored. Contemporary issues and strategies to promote interprofessional collaboration are examined.
3 cr.; Spring semester. Prerequisites: DNP program matriculation or consent of program director.
NURS 709 Population Health
Course Description: Population-based approaches and initiatives to improve population-focused health care are presented, analyzed, and evaluated. Assessment, implementation, and evaluation of evidence based interventions will be emphasized.
3 cr.; Fall semester. Prerequisites: Graduate status and NURS 703 prerequisite or concurrent.
NURS 720 DNP Project Planning Seminar
Course Description: The focus of this seminar is on capstone project mapping and the proposal development process.
1 cr. Spring semester. Prerequisite: NURS 701; NURS 702; NURS 703; NURS 704
NURS 730 DNP Proposal Development
Course Description: Students develop the DNP capstone proposal.
3cr.; Summer session I. Prerequisite: NURS 720.
NURS 740 DNP Project Implementation
Course Description: Students implement the capstone project in consultation with the faculty major advisor and capstone committee. Emphasis will be placed on data collection and analysis procedures.
2 cr; Fall semester. Prerequisite: NURS 730.
NURS 750 DNP Project Evaluation & Dissemination
Course Description: Students evaluate project findings and prepare the final written paper in consultation with the faculty major advisor and capstone committee. Project findings are defended at a culminating oral presentation.
1 cr; spring Semester. Prerequisite: NURS 740.
