First-Year Convocation

Please view and "attend" First Year Convocation. We also encourage members of the RIC community to join us.
A Rhode Island College tradition now in its 8th year, First Year Convocation serves to officially welcome our new first-year students into the college’s academic community.
This is the first year that Convocation will be a virtual event. RIC 100 students will participate as part of their Wednesday RIC 100 class. First-year students from COLL 101, HONR 150 and COLL 150 are also asked to log in to the event which takes place during the college’s free period.

Dr. Jeremy Benson, Associate Professor of Educational Studies, English Education. Dr. Benson is an educator, scholar and activist whose work focuses on the links among race, class, political economy, urban education and inequality in U.S. society.
