Jessica Pearson
Background
Jessica T. Pearson is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Rhode Island College. Ms. Pearson is a dancer, educator and choreographer who danced with the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, Gesel Mason and Concepts In Motion, Bermuda. This sought out educator has been invited to teach at Ballet West Summer Intensive, numerous dance studios and taught overseas for two years.
Prior to Rhode Island College, she was the inaugural recipient of the Raymond C. Morales Fellowship for the College of Fine Arts at the University of Utah in 2012. It was there she was invited to develop a course in the Ethnic Studies Department and won Utah’s Regional Ballet 2013 Choreography Design Project.
Throughout her performance career, Ms. Pearson has toured the United States and Canada performing the works of Geoffery Holder, Christopher L. Huggins, Ronald K. Brown, Chester Whitmore, Rosangela Silvestre, Kevin Iega Jeff, Nejla Y. Yakin, Talley Beatty, David Parson, Mark Taylor, Troy Powell, among many others.
Ms. Pearson continues her studies with attendance to the Teaching Contemporary Limon Workshop, Horton Pedagogy Workshop, Knapsack Institute and the International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference.
