MIRIC Rules
Students attending MIRIC must agree to abide by all rules and regulations. Failure to comply with these rules is cause for a student to be dismissed from the camp immediately, with no refund of fees. These regulations apply from the time the student checks in until the session. If you have any questions pertaining to any of these regulations, do not hesitate to seek clarification.
Attendance
Attendance will be taken and is mandatory at all rehearsals, classes, meetings, and recitals. Students who skip class will be sent home. If you miss a class/rehearsal because of illness, you must notify your Resident Assistant or the Resident Director. Resident students may not leave the Rhode Island College campus unless it is an emergency, and then only after checking out with the Resident Director.
Personal Cars
Commuters may park in the Nazarian Center parking lot, parking lot B, and will not need a parking permit.
Drugs
Students will not consume, possess or knowingly be in the presence of any type of alcoholic beverage, illegal drug or narcotic. The police will be called. Violators will be dismissed without a refund.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed. It is illegal in the state of Rhode Island for anyone under the age of 18 to purchase or possess tobacco. All campus buildings are covered by the public laws banning smoking.
Physical Dangers
Causing physical danger to others is reason for dismissal without refund. This includes but is not limited to such things as endangering the life or safety of a student (including yourself), physical violence, over the counter drug abuse, pranks with a potential for harm to any person or property and the possession of martial arts "toys" or weapons.
Fireworks are prohibited
Students may not possess or set off fireworks of any kind.
Skateboards
Skateboards and roller blades are not allowed at Rhode Island College or at MIRIC.
Dating
Behavior in areas open to all students is expected to conform to normal standards for public places.
Leaving
Students who must leave MIRIC for a short period must give specific written permission from their parent or guardian to the Workshop Director/s.
Refunds
There are no refunds for students who leave early for homesickness or other reasons. There are no refunds after the June 22, 2020 payment deadline.
MIRIC reserves the right, without a refund of fees, to expel any student who violates these regulations or interferes with the operation of the camp.
