Gold Key Society
The Gold Key Society, functioning under the auspices of the President's Office, consists of a group of students who promote the general welfare of the college by extending a spirit of hospitality toward visitors, serving as hosts for the college, and as ambassadors for visitors and dignitaries. Gold Key Society members project a favorable image while ushering at convocations, commencement, and other campus-wide events. Student members are afforded the opportunity to engage with college administrators, state officials, and dignitaries while learning valuable leadership and professional skills.
Application
Students must:
- possess at least a 2.50 grade point average and be in good academic standing
- commit to serving at no less than 4 events (approximately 15-20 hours) throughout the academic year
- attend training sessions before beginning their assignments and as deemed necessary by the coordinator
- adhere to Gold Key dress code
- adhere to a professional demeanor and protocols
Students receive:
- professional training in event management and protocols
- experience in professional settings and situations
- network opportunities with leaders in various fields
- opportunities to work with high level administrators of the college
- official Gold Key blazer and accessories
- reference possibilities
