Selected Public Service

I am a member of the Advisory Council for the Center for Advanced Practice at Adoption RI, where I have contributed to research on the educational & labor market outcomes of those who have spent time in foster care.

I frequently give expert legislative testimony at the Rhode Island General Assembly and public comment to boards and commissions on issues related to my areas of expertise and have organized a workshop for the 2021 American Sociological Association Annual Meeting on giving legislative testimony as a sociologist.

Within the discipline of sociology, I have served in a variety of section and editorial positions. Most recently, I have joined the Program Reviewers and Consultants group and have been elected to the Mentoring Committee of the Collective Behavior and Social Movements section.
