Background

Mark Anderson (B.A. Cornell, M.A. University of Minnesota, M.F.A. and Ph.D. Cornell) has published two books of poetry, The Broken Boat and Serious Joy, and his work has appeared in such publications as Poetry, The Hudson Review, Poetry Northwest, and Southern Poetry Review, among others.

“What the creative writing workshop offers that is otherwise so hard for young writers to come by is accurate descriptions of their work—not judgment, as is often mistakenly supposed. It can be exciting when a group of peers devoted to clear articulations of what we really see on the page arrives at a realization of something we didn’t know we knew.”
