Bachelor’s to Master’s Program
B.A. to M.A. in English
Do you have an interest in earning a Master’s degree and continuing your studies in literature, cultural studies, or creative writing?
The
B.A. to M.A. Program in English allows you to do that by taking graduate-level courses in your senior year and completing the M.A. in just one additional year beyond the B.A.
Apply for conditional admission after completing
72 undergraduate credits. A minimum GPA of 3.0 overall and 3.2 in English courses is required.

ENGL 500: English Colloquium: Writing, Research, Pedagogy (3 credits, S/US grade) is a discussion-based seminar focused on advanced topics in writing, research, and pedagogy. It takes up strategies for thesis writing, creative writing, advanced research, teaching, humanities advocacy, professional life, and marketing writing and communication skills. (Required forBA/MA students, open to all graduate students.)
ENGL 501: Literary and Cultural Theory (formerly “Introduction to Graduate Study”)
introduces students to current critical theories and methodologies in the study of literature,
writing, and culture.
