Background

I earned my Ph.D. in Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore, MD, prior to arriving at RIC. Previously, I spent ten years teaching middle school and high school Social Studies. My current research examines the potential of counter-narratives as theory and pedagogy in social studies.
