B A in Computer Science Program Goals

Goal 1: Core mastery

Students will acquire a background in the content and methodology of computer science.

Objective 1: Students will understand and use basic programming concepts and techniques.

Objective 2: Students will understand and use basic concepts and techniques in computer organization, architecture and operating systems.


Goal 2: Application

Students will apply their knowledge of computer science to solve problems.

Objective 1: Students will use problem-solving skills to design, implement and test programs individually.

Objective 2: Students will use problem-solving skills to design, implement and test programs as a member of a team.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Program Goals

Computer Information Systems Major

  1. Graduates will understand the roles of information systems in organizations and be able to utilize these systems for organizational process improvements.
  2. Graduates will be able to develop information systems, which achieve the goals of the organization while identifying and evaluating sourcing alternatives.
  3. Graduates will understand and be able to address the information requirements of organizations, including data security and risk management.
  4. Graduates will understand the opportunities created by technology innovations and how these impact organizations.
  5. Graduates will understand the design and management of the enterprise architecture and infrastructure.
  6. Graduates will have a basic level of competency in programming, logic skills, and computer literacy.
