Computer Information Systems Program
The Computer Information Systems major prepares students for careers dealing with the creation and implementation of computer-based information-generation systems which aid managers in planning and decision making. Students complete a core of basic computer science courses that includes the study of computer programming, networking, security, database design/development and systems design/development. Students also have the option to take electives in various courses like web design, data science, and data visualization. The major uses theoretical and practical applications to ensure that students are prepared for entry-level positions in the field of technical support systems analysis, computer center management, computer programming, software development, and computer sales.
