If a member of the campus community exhibits symptoms consistent with COVID-19, the college takes a number of steps based upon the category of the member:
Residential Students
Residential students will first be asked to isolate at-home. If this is not possible, arrangements will be made for students to isolate on campus. During that time, the college will provide support to students as necessary (e.g., for meals, classes and other supports). The student will not be able to return to class until clearance is obtained by Student Health Services, which will remain in contact with the student during the course of the student’s illness.
The college will support the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) regarding contact tracing and notifications to close contacts will be made as necessary.
Off-Campus Students
Students living off-campus will be asked to isolate at home and not return to campus or class until cleared to do so by Student Health Services. Student Health Services will remain in contact with the student during the course of the student’s illness.
The college will support the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) regarding contact tracing and notifications to close contacts will be made as necessary. The on-campus quarantine and isolation spaces in Browne Hall will not be provided for off-campus students.
Employees
Employee, including those working on campus and teleworking, will not be able to return to campus or work until clearance is obtained by Human Resources. Human Resources will remain in contact with the employee during the course of the employee’s illness.
The college will support the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) regarding contact tracing and notifications to close contacts will be made as necessary.
The on-campus quarantine and isolation spaces in Browne Hall will not be provided for employees.
