Judith Lynn Stillman enjoys a distinguished international career as pianist, composer, choral conductor, filmmaker, artist-teacher, music director and artistic visionary using the arts as a voice for social justice. She received Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees from The Juilliard School where she was awarded the Dethier prize for Outstanding Pianist and won the Concerto Competition. Stillman performs at prestigious music festivals and conservatories all over the world, including at The Grammy’s, for White House dignitaries, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Tanglewood, Marlboro, and as visiting artist in Beijing, Moscow and Prague. Her iconic duo recording with Wynton Marsalis on Sony Classical was on the Top Ten of the Billboard charts. Winner of 18 piano competitions, the first Pell Award in the Arts, RIC's Maixner and Thorp awards, and the Bannister Award for Civil Service in the Arts, Stillman is also a sought-after composer and filmmaker. Prizewinner in numerous international film festivals with showings in over 48 countries, Stillman has been cited for her projects in remembrance of the Holocaust and the Armenian genocide, and for her work with refugees. She teaches applied piano, chamber music ensemble, piano ensemble and piano master class at RIC and serves as artistic director of Masterworks Concerts at the Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts. Stillman received the Mary Tucker Thorp Professorship Award for Outstanding Scholarly and Creative Service at Rhode Island College and often includes RIC students, alums and faculty in her award-winning productions.
