Governance

Council of Rhode Island College

Established in 1963, consists of the President of the College, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, one faculty member from each department, or School if there are no separate departments within it, plus six at-large faculty members; two members of the professional staff of the College; two students for a one-year term to be selected in a manner determined by the Student parliament.

Curriculum Committee

The Curriculum Committee is a Committee of the Council of Rhode Island College and as such is subject to all the requirements and regulations of Council committees that apply.

Board of Education

The 11-member Rhode Island Board of Education was created by the Rhode Island General Assembly in 2013 and replaced the Board of Regents for Elementary and Secondary Education and the Board of Governors for Higher Education. This consolidated governance of all public education in Rhode Island is an innovative integration of policymaking and planning for elementary, secondary and higher public education in our state.​​​
